If I had to describe my illustration style in one word, I would say it is “atmosphere”. Why? Because the atmosphere allows the reader/observer to stay immersed in the world in which he wants to travel. Another element is added to testo: creativity. In my opinion, a good illustration does not necessarily have to strictly represent what a text says, since the information has already been provided. The illustration can represent parts or fragments of what the text wants to convey to us. In this sense, I consider that the illustration should not be an element of decoration, but should accompany and complement the text. Other times I have also recreated the central scene of the text, since it is also necessary to show the artist’s vision. These elements are precisely those that are still far from conventional art or “pastiche”, such as that which can be created (for example) by Artificial Intelligence. I believe that illustration, and especially editorial illustration, can opt for intelligent and innovative art, which goes beyond mere formal representations on a specific topic.
